Painters Community of Solentiname and Wildlife Reserve Los Guatuzos
Day 1 Solentiname - Isla Mancarrón
We start from the National Airport of Managua with a plane to the small
town of San Carlos on the southern coast of Lake Cocibolca (Lake Nicaragua.)
From there we take a motorboat to the Solentiname Archipelago. After a
delicious seafood lunch, we walk from the Hotel Mancarrón to El
Refugio, the small village of artists. There you may enjoy the colorful
art and sculptures of the primitive artists. Later, we visit an indigenous
cemetery, and, finally walk to an exceptional overlook La Reconciliación.
Day 2 "Los Guatuzos" Wildlife Refuge Excursions
A half-day motorboat tour inside the Los Guatuzos Wildlife Refuge-the
only internationally registered tropical wetlands area in Nicaragua. We
cruise across the Great Lake Cocibolca and up the Papaturro River. We
always see monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, lizards, sloth, turtles, and
toucans. White herons are, among others, the guardians of this natural
wonderland. If you fail to see animals in this tour, we will refund your
money.
Day 3 Solentiname - Managua
After breakfast, we take the boat from Solentiname to San Carlos and return
to Managua by plane.

Day 1: Managua - Leon- Chinandega
After breakfast we board our minibus and head to the city of Leon. At
the Ruins of Old Leon, a group of young actors will perform a dramatization
of the history of the first cities of America founded by the Spanish Conquistadors
in the 16th century. Later, we will go to the colonial city of Leon Santiago
de Los Caballeros, rich in history, culture, and tradition. We will visit
the Cathedral where the great poet Rubén Darío is buried,
For lunch ,we eat at the Sesteo Café where you can enjoy the historical
mural El Fresco Hamburgo-León. Later we tour the cellars of the
Flor de Caña distillery in Chichigalpa-where you can taste the
aged Rum that is the pride of Nicaragua. At night, we lodge at Los Volcanes
Hotel in the city of Chinandega.
Day 2: Chinandega - Cosigüina Volcano - Leon
After an early morning breakfast ,we continue our tour towards the Indian
Community that protects the statuette of the Virgen del Hato. From there
we head toward the summit of the Cosigüina Volcano with an elevation
of 859 meters. You will have a wonderful view of the Gulf of Fonseca,
the Pacific Coast and the border of El Salvador. The volcano crater contains
a beautiful blue lagoon. The flora of the National Park of Cosigüina
shelters multiple species of parrots. "Come and meet them!".
After our box lunches, we visit the Church of El Viejo-with its art treasures
made more impressive by the enormous gold and silver decorations. At sunset,
we reach Leon-the old university city of Nicaragua.

Day 3 Cerro Negro Tour - Managua
Early in the morning we depart for Cerro Negro Volcano. Later, we journey
on foot to the peak. First we view the black lava fields and, then, are
awed by Nature's paintings in yellow, red, green, black, and every color
in between. All of the color is produced by the constant escape of sulfuric
gases. Walking through the smoke, we come to a crest that gives us a view
once thought limited to the imagination. Back down, we visit Asososca
Lagoon. In the afternoon we go back to Managua
